Obviously the door has not moved,
otherwise the frame would not have been
so mesmerizing.
The purpose of all things is to be.
Their freedom lies in their moving.
Hence freedom being so appealing.
» Maurice Blanchot.

Revisiting Adrienne Rich
The doorframe catches my eye,
my attention being drawn, more particularly, to
the corners, up there,
white and self-confident in spite
of their irrelevance.
If, as they say,
to be anything (or anybody) is
to be bounded, hemmed in, defined,
and separated by a circumambient frame of vacuity,
these corners half-claim
they are.
Somehow.
Well, at least, this is their purpose.
You realize I clean forgot to mention
what has happened to the door.

Regardable
